Finally after years of waiting, Nike finally delivers on it's promise from Back To The Future

According to a tweet from the company's Heidi Burgett, the HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available for "experience & purchase" starting on the 28th of November, but only in select Nike locations in the US. Pricing is still unknown, but expect a "high price tag," according to a Wired feature on the shoe's development.

I swear self lacing shoes come out every second day. Are these actually "self lacing" though, or are they just those things that stretch (which basically has already existed for a long time...right...)

^ What enstage said. Back to the Future movies predicted more technology in the 3 movies back in the 80's then any thing.

      • Our obsession with 3D movies and sequels
      • Handheld tablet computers
      • Video conferencing
      Just to name a few.

      Hopefully these are real.

"LEDs in the heel light up when the shoes are tightening and when it's on low battery, and all the internal electronics mean that yes, you do have to charge these shoes. It takes three hours for a full charge and each charge last about two weeks"
      Legit self lacing this time

And good on the writers for that, potentially shaping the course of history forever

        Any official source of price?
A good pair of regular nikes range from $200-$400. I wonder how much these will cost when they come out.

This. I don't understand this. Why would I pay $400 for a pair of shoes...I mean I can kinda see why some people would want to, but like ew cmon

I would mark your post "dumb" but that just gives you a negative point, I want Nike to get the negative point...

This proves my point further, why would I want to spend that much extra just to save me the time of doing up my shoe lace...so dumb. Like when smart watches came out, my Pebble watch was $150 right, which is the same price as a solid watch that's going to last you a while anyway, so it was worth just spending the $150 to actually get extra functionality, even if it might be slightly less durable. Why spend an extra multiple hundreds of dollars JUST to get one dumb feature :(

Like my new mouse, for $10 I could probably buy a cheap noname bigw mouse for about that so why not go RGB 8000DPI ?

But would I pay $60 for the RGB ? no way

Exactly, some people will fork out the extra for the shoes.

I thought these had been out for like a few years. I've seen plenty of vids of this. Maybe it just got public or something.
